Biography
William McCain was born abt 1782 in Maryland City, Maryland, his father, William, was 22 and his mother, Nancy, was 27.
He married Elizabeth Hannah Newcomb abt 1810. They had 11 children in 21 years.
In November 1856, William McCain purchased an additional section of land from George Wingert.
The 1860 Census indicated that William McCain, age 78 was living in Pepin, Pepin, Wisconsin. He was living with his son samuel, his wife and five children and two others William Mc Gee age 19 and Peter Mc Cain age 29.[1]
He died on October 6, 1862, in Pepin, Wisconsin, having lived a long life of 80 years, and was buried there.
