George Washington McAdoo's first wife was Nancy MARRS, born about 1846 died between 1879-1880 in Madison County, Arkansas. They were the parents of 3 children.

George Washington McAdoo's second wife was Nancy J. LESTER Stanley (born 1851 died after 1910). They were the parents of 8 to 10 children.

From: Saint Paul Mountain Air, December 1906 "Wash McAdoo of near Witter, Bowen Township, died Wednesday evening. He was the father of Jeff McAdoo of this place, and Mrs. George Tweedy of Mena, who arrived just after her father's death."

George Washington "Wash" McAdoo was a Confederate Veteran, having served in Co. G, 1st Arkansas Mountain Rifles. His brother, Lewis McAdoo, served in the Union Army, in Co. G, 1st Arkansas Infantry.

Inscription His tombstone reads: Washington McAdoo, Died November 28, 1906, age 65 years. Although He Sleeps, His Memory Doth Live, and Cheering Comfort to his Mourners Give.
