James Maze was born in 1812 in Tennessee.[1]

According to the 1880 census, James lived Nancy and their son Seigle in Moniteau County, Missouri.[1]

I can't find a source for James after the 1880 census.

His wife is widowed in the 1900 census[2] so he died between 1880 and 1900.

Research Notes

In the records of Copps Chapel Cemetery, there are entries for James Maize, Clementine Maize, and Thaddie Maize. Copps Chapel Cemetery is located in northern Moniteau County in Linn Township. There are only names in these old records and there are no stones that mark these graves. James' brother-in-law, California Kimberling, is buried in this cemetery. It is possible that the James Maize in the records is this James Maze. ~~Mae Bruce, June 14, 2021~~
