Birth
Sarah Agnes Mawhinney was born on 12 December 1887 in Belfast, Ireland. She was the daughter of Isaiah Mawhinney and Sarah Agnes Long. ^[1]

In the 1911 Ireland Census, Sarah, age 23, was living on Ashton Street (Dock Ward) in Belfast. She was with her mother and two siblings. She was working as a damask weaver. ^[2]

Marriage
On 17 April 1911, John Adams, a 23-year-old damask weaver from 15 Bowness Street in Belfast, married Sarah Mawhinney, age 23, from 10 Aston Street [Ashton Street]. They were married in the parish church of St. Mary's in the diocese of Connor. ^[3]

Sarah (Mawhinney) Adams died from complications of childbirth.

Death
Sarah died from eclampsia of pregnancy on 17 August 1911. ^[4] Eclampsia is a severe complication of preeclampsia. It's a rare but serious condition where high blood pressure results in seizures during pregnancy. Seizures are periods of disturbed brain activity that can cause episodes of staring, decreased alertness, and convulsions (violent shaking).

Sarah was mentioned on a memorial in Dundonald Cemetery, Belfast, County Down, Northern Ireland with a death date of 17 August 1911. ^[5]
