Dale was born 14 May 1920 in Portland, Oregon. He was the son of Fred Maury and Verna Sigler.[1]
Dale was the tail gunner on the B-24 Liberator bomber, Mister Five by Five - #41-24234-U, participating in Operation Tidal Wave the low-level attack on the Romanian oil refineries at Ploesti on 1 August 1943. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for the mission.
He married Kathleen Monica Fletcher on 30 May 1945 in Peterborough, England. The divorced on 3 July 1964 in Hood River, Oregon.[2][3]
He passed away 1 July 1966 in Siskiyou County, California.[4]
