Biography

Fabiola Matte was born in Quebec, Canada in 1875. She grew up in Ste. Nicolet, a small French speaking village which centred around the Catholic Church. It was on the banks of the St. Lawrence River near the city of Trois Riveres. Fabiola married Achille Mercier on December 21, 1901 at Princeville, Quebec, Canada and they emigrated to the United States in 1902. They had seven children. They moved to Lawrence, Massachusetts in the mid-1920s.
