Biography
Son of John and Elizabeth Masters - born about 1790.
William was a resident of Providence, RI at the time of his first marriage, in 1848, to Freelove Holden Greene, daughter of Captain Godfrey Greene, Jr and Ruth Holden Greene; she was residing in Oxford, Massachusetts. They lived in Webster, Massachusetts shortly after their marriage.
William and Freelove moved back to Rhode Island before the 1860 Census. William was still living there in 1870 - a retired grocer - with his second wife, Zerviah Patt Smith Masters.
William Masters died in 1873 in Providence County, Rhode Island in the 84th year of his age. He indicated in his will that he wished to be buried in Oxford, Massachusetts with his first wife.
