Thorough search of Cornwall Parish Records found no evidence of birth details.
- Before 5 Sep 1538 in England and Wales church’s were not mandated to record baptism’s, marriages and burial’s in ecclesiastical registers and certainly did not for “commoner’s” [3]
- Many Ancestry.co.uk profiles list Nicholas St John of Wiltshire as the father of Humfry John and Elizabeth le Blount as his mother, this without doubt is incorrect and perhaps a possible connection is that Nicholas St John was Member of Parliament for the Camelford, Cornwall constituency for a period of time.
