Biography

William was born in 1851. He was the son of Charles Marston and Elizabeth Clurow.

William married Ellen Mary Baker on 4 Sep, 1886 at Hamilton, New South Wales, Australia.^[1]

William and Ellen had the following children:

1. Irene Barberton born 1900 in Paddington, New South Wales, Australia.^[2]
2. Florence Alma born 19 Feb, 1902 in Paddington, New South Wales, Australia.^[3]

In Mar, 1901, William transferred his publican's licence for the Metropolitan Hotel, Underwood Street, Paddington, to James Renwick.^[4]

In 1902, William was licensee of the Britannia Hotel in Oxford Street, Paddington, New South Wales, Australia.^[5][6]

At around midnight on the evening of 1 Jul, 1902, William was assaulted and robbed after answering a knock at the door. He was hit over the head with a bottle, and a bag containing cash and cheques, takings from the hotel, was stolen.^[6]

In Jan, 1903, William transferred his hotel license for the Brittania Hotel to Rebecca Cable.^[7]

In 1905, William was residing at 22 Read Street, Waverley, New South Wales, Australia.^[8]

In 1920, William was residing at 21 Read Street, Waverley, New South Wales, Australia.^[9]

In 1930, William appeared on the electoral roll, residing with his wife, Ellen, at 18 Read Street, Bronte, New South Wales, Australia.^[10]

He passed away on 12 Jun, 1930,^[11] at his residence, 16 Read Street, Bronte, New South Wales, Australia.^[12] Hi funeral was held on 14 Jun, 1930, and he was interred in Waverley Cemetery at Bronte, New South Wales, Australia.^[13]
