Catherine Marest is a descendant of an Acadian

Marie Catherine Marest was born to Louis and Catherine Forest on Sept 2, 1763, baptized the next day in L'Assomption.[1]

Catherine Marest first married Joseph Mirault, son of François Mirault and of Cécile Bours (sic), on 23 September 1783 in L'Assomption.[2]

5 known children to the couple, of which 3 are known to marry. They were established in St-Jacques-de-l'Achigan.[3]

Joseph Mirault, husband of Catherine Marest, died on 8 July 1790 and was buried on the 10th in St-Jacques-de-l'Achigan, being given the age of 36 on the record.[4]

Catherine Demarest, widow of Joseph Mirau, remarries with Jean Baptiste Coitou dit St-Jean, son of Maurice Coitou dit St-Jean and of Élisabeth Roy, on 17 January 1792 in L'Assomption.[5]

They have at least 6 children who marry. [3]

Catherine Desmarais, wife of Jean Baptiste St-Jean dit Coëtou (sic), died on 29 March 1832 and was buried on the 31st in St-Jacques-de-l'Achigan, aged 72 per funeral record. Her sons Louis and Jean Baptiste St-Jean dit Coëtou are cited present at the funeral.[6]

Marais-932 and Desmarais-169 appear to represent the same person because: Same name. Marest was on baptism record. same parents, both Louis and Ctherine Forest are named in biography of Marais-932. Same spouse also needs merge. Same death date and place.
