Biography

Samuel was born about 1712 in Henrico, VA. He was the son of Robert Mann and his wife Mary (some claim her last name was Womack, but proof has not been provided and the trees of many who claim this are full of errors and theoretical info). HIs brother David Mann did marry a Mary Womack.

The family name of Samuel's wife Elizabeth is also unknown as of 2022. His children include daughters Sarah (unmarried at the time of her mother's death), Martha, Elizabeth and Mary, along with sons Joseph, Samuel, Jr, Newby/Newberry, James, Robert, and John. These names come from Tax Lists and family wills, such as Samuel Sr's wife Elizabeth's will. Samuel, Sr passed away about 1785.
