Filippo Giulio Mancini (1641-1707), son of Lorenzo Mancini and his wife, Geronima Mazzarini, nephew of Cardinal Mazarin, was sent to France by his uncle. He inherited part of his uncle's enormous fortune in 1661.
In 1670 he married Diane-Gabrielle Damas de Thianges, niece of Madame de Montespan. They had six children including:
