At an early hour this morning we received information of the death during the night of Mr. J. J. Malone, of Gundurimba.

The deceased gentleman, who was one of the pioneers of the district, was well known throughout the district. Although he had almost reached man's allotted span of three score and ten years, he was hale and active until the past four or five days, when a heavy cold confined him to his room.

He leaves a widow and grown family of seven.

His remains will be convoyed to the Cathedral to-morrow at midday, thence to the R.C. cemetery.
