Hey Philip,

You have the answer...pestering other more experienced members. However, members do not usually feel it is pestering!! Honestly, I do not have the answer, but if you go to your Help drop down menu and select Forum "G2G" you can go ahead and ask your question and those wonderful members will reach out to you to help you find that answer! Please let me know if that does not work and we can try to find another option!

Many thanks, Cindy

Thanks for your offer of help.

How do I find information on someone not in my family(that I know of)? I have a bible published in Philadelphia in 1802, belonging to Benjamin Price. I found it in the basement of our (then) new house in Silver Spring Maryland in 1964, and I've had it ever since. How can I investigate the ancestry of Benjamin Price? Thanks! PS I saw on WikiTree that there was a Benjamin Price living in Chester Pa around that time. (1790-1870) PPS Randall Malin settled in Chester in 1692, and he was a Quaker too...

Hello Philip!

You've been a member for a few weeks so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions? Most of us have questions after all that information!

I want to help! Click my name, send me a private message or ask in the comment section of my page. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Messenger

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Hi Philip Thanks for the message.

You can use the two empty boxes at the very top center of your page., type in the profile name, and known dates, to see if the person is already on WikiTree. I searched this is the closest. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Malin-7. There are others with later dates.

If you do not find it, then start your family tree, and build backward with dates, locations, and sources.

When looking on the RIGHT side of a profile NOT in edit mode, this Roots search has several search sites to use.

Research RootsSearch for ..........: conveniently search 20+ genealogy websites. [more info] It is a green link.

Thanks
