Violet, child of Charles Arthur Makepeace & Mary, was baptised on 10 April 1898 in Barry, Glamorgan, Wales.^[5][6][7]

In the 1901 census Violet (age 3) was the daughter of Charles A Makepeace in 12 Welford Street, Barry, Glamorgan, Wales.^[8]

In the 1911 census Violet (age 13), School, was the daughter of Charles Arthur Makepeace in 12 Welford Street, Barry, Glamorgan, Wales.^[9]

Violet's (28) marriage to James Edward Luen (29) on 1 Jun 1926, took place in St James Church, Kings Street, Sydney, NSW, Australia.^[10]

In 1927, Violet arrives back in the UK from Australia. Port of Departure: Brisbane, Australia, Arrival date: 18 Mar 1927, Port of Arrival: London, England, Ship name: Orsova, Shipping line: Peninsula and Orient Steam Navigation Company Ltd, Proposed UK address: 23 Harbour Road, Barry, Glamorgan. (Note: This was Violet & her new husband James coming back to live in the UK). ^[11]

In the 1939 register Violet (age 41), Unpaid Domestic Duties, was the married head of household at 14 Cold Knap Way, Barry, Glamorganshire, Wales.^[12][13]

Sadly, her husband James lost his life at sea while serving in the Merchant Navy in 1939.

Violet is named as the sole beneficiary of her husband James' estate, which passed probate on 17 January 1940 in Glamorgan, Wales.^[14]

Violet's death was registered in the Oct-Nov-Dec quarter of 1975 in the S Glamorgan district.^[15][16]

She is buried at Merthyr Dyfan Cemetery, Barry (Section: A, Grave: 924).

Violet died on 25 December 1975 residing at 31 Romilly Road, Barry, South Glamorgan and her estate passed probate on 24 May 1976 in Llandaff.^[17]
