Biography

Jean Mackintosh is the daughter of Donald Mackintosh and Jean (Dunbar) Mackintosh. ^{[1] [2]}

Jean Mackintosh married William McBain, son of Paul McBain and Anna Urquhart. ^[3][2]

William MacBean of Kinchyle and his wife Jean Mackintosh had the following children - 5 sons, shown below in order of birth, and 3 daughters also shown in their order of birth:^[2][4][5][6]

1. Æneas MacBean (otherwise 'Aeneas' / 'Angus') born c.1680-1689. ‘younger of Kinchyle’. Confirmed as definitely dead some time before 18th May 1722 and after 6th December 1720. His only surviving heir was his daughter Margaret.
2. Gillies 'Mor' MacBean, 14th Chief of Clan MacBean - died at the Battle of Culloden, 16th April 1746, where he served as Major in Lady Anne Mackintosh's Regiment.
3. William MacBean - died leaving two daughters.
4. Donald MacBean - believed to have died young.
5. John MacBean - ancestor of the current Chief of the Clan MacBean.

William & Jean’s three daughters:-

1. Anna MacBean (eldest daughter) - married Donald MacBean of Faillie.
2. Marjory MacBean - married William Fraser, son of John Fraser of Meikle Garth.
3. Elspet MacBean (3rd daughter) - married John MacBean of Drummond.
