Margaret was born in 1821and christened on 24 Mar 1821 in Halkirk, Caithness, Scotland, United Kingdom. Her parents were John Mackay and Margaret (Gunn) Mackay[1]
In 1838 she is recorded as having a daughter Janet (Campbell) McDonald with her husband George Campbell Janet was christened on 28th June 1839 in Halkirk Caithness Scotland. (see Research Notes)[2]
In 1841-1861 Margaret continued to live in Halkirk, Caithness Scotland with her husband.
In the 1871[3] censuses sadly it looks as if Margaret is now a widow. She continued to live in Caithness and is listed in the England, Wales & Scotland Census for 1881, and 1891

Margaret's death (age 82) was registered in 1902 in the Halkirk district.[8]
