" Flora Jane, 3rd daughter of Alexander and Eleanor Brown MacKay was born on July 13, 1874 and died on January 2, 1941. Flora ws born in Burnside and attended school there.
After Flora finished her schooling she cooked in the lumberwoods for her father until she went to the United States to work in 1898. Flora returned and married Robinson Ellis of Eastville and went to the big Ellis farm to live with the old folks. Rob got the home place and it was a big farm with a large house and lots of work. Rob was a great worker. He worked in the lumberwoods with his teams of horses in the winter. When his boys got big enough to do the chores he went out West, and one year later he went to the United States and worked with horses on a farm. Later Rob bought a hennery in North Orange, Mass., and went into the egg and poultry business. When Rob was no longer able to work he sold out the business and returned home where he died on September 3, 1945, leaving his farm as well as the adjoining Rob Brown place to his boys. Flora ( Jane ) lived on the home place or visited her daughter until her death in 1941. "
