He was the son of Reverend Hendricus Lydius. [1]

Real Estate in the City of Onderwater, County of Leerdam, Jurisdiction of Tarley, personal property. Executors 'My well beloved Spouse', Col. Killian van Rensselaer and Evert Bancker esqre. Witnesses Hend. Hansen, Johannis Mingael, and Robt. Livingston jun. Seal. At date of probate April 17, 1716 Widow Isabella Lydius has become wife of Jacobus Staats of Albany[4]

And here's a source that has info for them as well Sotheby's An American silver tankard, Konraet Ten Eyck, Albany circa 1705 The arms are those of Lydius, with the initials for Johannes Henricus (John Hendrik) Lydius and his wife Geneviève Massé. This tankard probably originally belonged to Dominie Johannes Lydius. Born in Maesden, South Holland, the son of Rev. Hendricus Lydius, by 1692 he was dominie of the Reformed Church of Antwerp. etc.
