Biography

Gustav Adolph Lupke was born 5 May 1863, the son of Johann Lupke and Wilhelmine Mahlau. He was baptized 20 May 1863 in Groß Krebs, Marienwerder, Westpreußen, Germany, in what is now the village of Rakowiec in Gmina Kwidzyn, Kwidzyn, Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland. He had at least one full brother and 6 half brothers.

He emigrated to the United States of America. Censuses list his immigration year as 1887.

Married Augusta Gronan, 5 Oct 1893 in Fort Wayne, Allen, Indiana. She predeceased him.

He passed away 4 Feb 1929 at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. His cause of death was esophagus cancer. At the time of his death, he was a 66 year old laborer. The informant on his death certificate was his daughter Augusta, who he lived with. He was buried alongside his wife in the Concordia Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Indiana. His daughter Estella would later be buried next to him.
