Her immediate survivors include her husband, Oscar of the home; three sons, one sister and two sisters-in-law, Helen Lukens and Lois Lukens of Beloit. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the McDonald Funeral Home with Dr. W. F. Lown officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Manhattan Christian Church. Friends may call after 4 P.M. Tuesday, at the McDonald Funeral Home.

Roberta spent her childhood years in Beloit and graduated from Beloit High School in 1929. She continued her education and graduated from Sterling College in 1933. On June 1, 1938 she was married to Oscar Delbert Grover at Beloit. To this union were born three sons: Delbert, Ron and Bob. Roberta and her husband lived at several places during her life. Her husband was a pastor for various Christian Churches in Kansas, Nebraska and Washington. They moved to Beloit in 1964 and in 1977 moved to Newton. Education and teaching were very important to Roberta. She loved children and learning. Her teaching career began at Athens High School from 1934-37, and then she taught at Ada Rural High School during the 1937-38 school year. She continued her teaching at Mabton High School of Mabton, Wash., from 1955-57, and from 1957-61 she taught at Chadron High School of Chadron, Neb., and she taught for one year at Westran High School in Randolph County, Mo. Roberta was the Beloit High School librarian from 1964-68, developed the Beloit Elementary School library in 1969, and retired in 1974. In addition to teaching, Roberta found time to further her personal education, having done graduate studies at the State Teachers College of Ellenburg, Wash., and Chadron State University of Chadron, Neb. Roberta also enjoyed helping others after her retirement. She was active in chapel activities at the Newton Presbyterian Manor, and she found time to visit other residents and do sewing for them. She was a member of the Alpha Alpha Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma of Newton, the Harvey County Retired Teachers Association, and she was a former member of the Kansas Library Association. Roberta was an active and faithful member of the Newton Christian Church. Roberta will be deeply missed by her husband Oscar of the home, three sons, Delbert Grover and his wife Helen of St. Ann, Mo.; Ron Grover and wife Linda of Wichita; and Bob Grover and wife Jann of Poway, Calif. Roberta also leaves one sister, Lucille Lukens, Newton; and two sisters-in-law, Lois Lukens and Helen Lukens of Beloit. Roberta will be sadly missed by four grandchildren and many friends. In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob Lukens and Lyle Lukens. Funeral services were held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, Jan. 14, at McDonald Funeral Home, Beloit. Officiating was Dr. W. F. Lown of Joplin, Mo. Music was by Meredith Myers, soloist and Mrs. Meredith Myers, accompanist; and Mrs. Cleo Riley, organist.
