Alan Wood Lukens was born on 21 Feb 1836 in Conshohocken, Montgomery, Pennsylvania, his father, Lewis Augustus Lukens and his mother, Mary Thomas Wood. He married Elizabeth Nelson Nevius on 1 Oct 1863 in New York, New York. He died on 1 Mar 1881 in Elizabeth, Union, New Jersey and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Hillside, Union County, New Jersey.
