Teresa Gille Lourenço was the mistress of Pedro I, King of Portugal after Inês de Castro was beheaded in 1355. She was the mother by him of Joao I Aviz, who eventually succeeded as King of Portugal and Algarve.
Her parentage is unsure, some chroniclers stating she was of common stock,[1] while others state she came from the Galacian nobility, and her parents could be Lourenço Martins, or da Praça, and Sancha Martins.
Her birth date of about 1336 is based on her son's birth date of 11 April 1357. She doesn't appear to be mentioned in any chronicles after this date.
