I've been tracing my family history for 50 years. I am looking for a viable source on who Alvah Taylor Lougee's mother and father was. I believe he was born in Maine or New Hampshire in 1823 or 1825. I find him on no 1850 census anywhere. He moved to MN around 1856 with an Uncle. He does appear on the 1860 census in MN. He was a farmer and a Justice of the Peace in at least 2 counties in MN. His children were Samuel R. Lougee, Sarah Anne, Freddie Albert, Franklin Alvah, and Nellie Lougee. He was married to Rachel Marie Rogers. He is my great grandfather. His son Franklin Alvah Lougee was my grandfather. My father is Franklin LeRoy Lougee, now all deceased. I find nothing on Alvah Taylor Lougee before 1856. I believe he came to MN with an Uncle Samuel, who I do find in MN in 1857.
