John married Prudence Elizabeth Hatch (daughter of Jethro Hatch and Martha Clark), 19 Jan 1794. In the History of Sherburne, Chenango Co., New York, John Lathrop is known as one of the early pioneers and settler of that town. John Lothrop died July 17, 1825 in Sherburne, Chenango Co., New York. Burial at Sherburne Quarter Cemetery.
