Greg --

You may have been hard at work adding family members and getting connected to those that are already here. You probably have at least a few profiles that you manage now. So, this week we're going to look at how to work with your Watchlist: How to Manage Your Watchlist.

As always, your questions are welcome!

Hi again,

You have been here for a while now! You're probably getting a good feel for the collaborative nature of WikiTree by now. We know that collaboration isn't always easy. So, we've put together a few pointers that can make working in this type of environment a little easier: How to be a Successful WikiTreer.

Have questions? We want to help! Click the name above any of your comments, then ask in the comment section of that volunteer's page.

PS. Looks like you've had fun with the lessons, your tree is nice and full. Next time you touch the profiles, please consider adding information about your sources (examples). Thanks for sharing!

Hi Greg, I just saw that you rejected a match of Looney-179 and Looney-945. If the information in both profiles is broadly correct in terms of family members and dates, and you are comfortable that the profiles do represent the same person, then you can approve the merge. In this case, since you have said in the comments that all other details on the merge proposal are correct, I suggest you approve the merge but then note the different locations in Virginia where Peter is said to have been born (eg Augusta vs Betincourt) in the biography or comments section as a point for further research or add sources to support the correct location. I would be happy to re-open the merge proposal if you are OK with this, or you can do so, whatever you prefer. Hope you are enjoying Wikitree so far! Leigh
Hi –

I'm a member of the Mentor project, and I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can help you with?

Shirley

, you are now a confirmed member of WikiTree. As we've said, WikiTree is quite different from other genealogy sites. So, we've put together a guided tour to help you learn how to use it. Your first stop is How to Start Climbing Our Tree. Next week, you'll get another message with your next stop on the guided tour.

Our G2G forum is a great way to get to know our community! Join the fun with our Question of the Week: How do you do to honor the veterans in your family tree?

Tomorrow, you'll hear from a Mentor who will check in to see how you're doing and answer any questions you might have.

Thanks for becoming part of our shared WikiTree!
