Biography

Hattie was born in 1874 to Abner Jessie Lockett and Mary Margaret Jones. She had at least 4 siblings: Thomas Solomon, Chatty, Beulah Bernice, and Isaac Gordon.

She married in 1892 to Jeptha Freeman Norris, son of Jordan Marion Norris and Narcisera Draper. She was about 18 years old and was his first wife. They had at least 3 children together:

1. Lillie Story Norris
2. Inez Norris
3. Garner George Lockett Norris Sr

Family researchers indicate she may have 3 children who died at an early age. No records have been found to confirm this information. They are listed here only for research purposes:
