Biography

He would be Heinrich I, the number referencing his title, not his given name, even though his father was also Heinrich I, as king and he as duke of Bavaria. Birthplace is Nordhausen per "Vita Mathildis reginae posterior",[1] it was a Königspfalz, so the name at that time would be Nordhausen, Königspfalz, Heiliges Römisches Reich. The date about 921.

The moniker "Duke of Lotharingia and Bavaria" is somewhat misleading, he was Herzog von Lothringen only very briefly (940, losing the title in the same year) and later became Herzog von Bayern in 948.

He died 1 Nov 955 in the monastery or the Königspfalz Pöhlde which would also be imperial. The date is recorded in the Necrologium Monasterii S. Emmerammi Ratisbonensis.[2]

Would Luidolfing be the proper LNAB? If so, can we change it and complete the merge?

He is from the Liudolfinger family. Just as an aside: Calling him "Liudolfing" would be equivalent to calling a Carolingian "Caroling". The German form would be Liudolfinger, in English Liudolfingian.

Thanks Helmut! This is why I ask before changing anything on medieval profiles! :-) Plus I spelled it wrong...sigh. Do you agree on the name change to Liudolfinger and merge with the Count_of_Bavaria-1 profile?

Yes, they are obviously the same.
