Biography

Rose Ann Little (married names Thatcher, then Russell) was born on 23 October 1859 in Dunmow, Essex, England^[1], the daughter of Eliza Stokes and John Little.

The ship, Utopia set sail from Liverpool, England on 24 March 1861 with the LITTLE family among the assisted immigrant passengers and arrived in Hobson's Bay, Colony of Victoria on 25 June 1861^[2][3]. The LITTLE family from Essex, consisted of parents, John (age 26, Farm Servant) and Eliza (26) and their children, Francis (6) and infant, Rose.

She married Alfred Thatcher in 1878 in Colony of Victoria.^[4]

Their children were:

Rose died on 9 August 1939 in Heidelberg, Victoria, aged 79 years^[7] and was buried at the ^[8]

RUSSELL. — On August 9, at Heidelberg, Rose Ann, dearly beloved wife of George Russell, of 41 Rosebory-street, Auburn, and loving mother of Joseph (deceased), Alfred, Robert, Walter, John (deceased), Harry, Thather (deceased), and Rose (Mrs. Bond), George (deceased) and Thomas Russell, Florence (Mrs. Lucas). A resident of Hawthorn for 78 years. Peace, perfect peace. No flowers, by request.
