The 1871 England and Wales Census shows Joseph living with his parents and two siblings in Setmurthy, Cumberland, England, a civil parish in Allerdale.[3] He was seven years old.
In early 1891 Joseph married Ada Ellen Lowe in Cockermouth, Cumberland, England.[4] Ada had been married once before.
The 1891 England and Wales Census shows the couple living in John Street, Workington, Cumberland, England.[5] Joseph was 27 years old and was working as a Railway Guard.
The 1901 England and Wales Census shows the couple and three children living in Roper Street, Workington, Cumberland, England.[6] Joseph was 37 years old and was working as a Railway Guard.
The 1911 England and Wales Census shows the couple and three children living in Workington, Cumberland, England.[7] Joseph was 47 years old and was working as a Guard on the Furness Railway.
Joseph passed away on 8 May 1935 in Workington, Cumberland, England.[8] He was 71 years old.
