Biography

Walter (Lindsay) Lindsay Ist of Beaufort and Edzell is a member of Clan Lindsay.

Walter Lindsay second son of David, third earl of Crawford.^[1] and Marjory Ogilvy^[2]

He acquired Beaufort and part of Aird from David Lindsay of Lethnot whose mother was a daughter and one of the four heiresses of Walter Fenton of Baikie and Beaufort. He acted as deputy-sheriff of Aberdeenshire and Forfar.

He married Isabel, daughter of WIlliam Levingtoun of Saltcoats.^[1][2] They had issue:

3. Walter^[1][3]
4. Ingelram^[1][3]
5. Thomas^[1][3]
6. Agnes^[1][3]
7. Janet^[4]

Walter died in 1475/76.^[1][2]
