Records show IRVING and IRWIN. Not convinced that John Irwin and John Irving are the same person. They married and Isabell had children in Aikton, Cumberland, England. The marriage is a problem as Isabella would have been about 12, quite legal in those days but very early. I have entered them as the same person until someone can provide some evidence, they are different people. It is not uncommon to have the Irving and Irwin names used within the same family. According to History, Gazetteer & Directory of Cumberland, 1847, published by Mannix, the population of Aikton in 1801 was 582 people, quite a small village. Page 445.
