Hi Brenda--

I've send through a couple of requests to be added to a trusted list for a profile you manage. When you have a moment can you check your requests? Thanks!

Hi Brenda, Your dad Raymond & I are Cousins (22nd) Thru Joane (Holand) Radcliffe (abt. 1287 - abt. 1347) a lot of kin folk, do you have a GEDCOM of your family, I will trade you 5000 people for every (1) you give to me, to save all the typing

Hi Bob,

I haven't been on here much lately but was excited to see your message. I am almost positive I can download a GEDCOM through ancestry but there are so many errors that I am having to fix. I didn't realize how many people just take info and copy it so I ended up with some conflicts that need to be weeded out. That is what I like about wiki. They are serious about keeping the facts straight. I will gladly share what info I have, where do you want to start?

Hi Brenda,

It's nice to meet you cousin! Gracie Ann Mills Gaddis was my great aunt. Were you her great-granddaughter? If you ever have any questions about the Mills family, please don't hesitate to ask. I'll be happy to share what I know.

Pam Parker

How exciting ! She was my 2cnd Great Grandmother. her daughter was Nancy Emily Gaddis who married Jesse Edward Carter, he was the father of my maternal grandfather-Cecil Eugene Carter. Which sibling do you descend from ?
posted by Brenda Liberto
I descended from Gracie Ann's brother, Rufus. He was my great-grandfather. His son William Madison "Will" was my grandfather, who married Martha Loutellie Wakefield. Their daughter, Velma Louise, was my mother.

I'm slowly moving my tree from Ancestry to Wikitree. I didn't move a Gedcom over. I had the notion to enter everything so I could weed out errors and make sure the family connections are correct. I was adding some information to Gracie's profile and saw that you worked on it as well. When you connected to her, you started showing up on my Mills profiles. This is one of the things I like about Wikitree. You can actually "meet" your relatives and share information about the family.

If I can be of any help to you, don't hesitate to ask.

Pam

Yes you can meet relatives on most sites if you do your DNA but sometimes they aren't that interested or maybe they were at one time but not anymore. I started this also on Ancestry many years ago and then life got really busy. We recently discovered my husbands biological family so it sparked me again and it's so much easier now.

I too am moving mine over one profile at a time for the same reasons. We need to find out more about each other. Same here, if I can help just let me know.

Hi Brenda,

Thanks for noticing the error in the succession banner for James I of Scotland. You have sharp eyes! It has been corrected, and thanks again for giving us a head's up.

You are very welcome. I noticed the same type error in his ancestors/decedents but didn't want to bombard your inbox.

They are all the James's I believe.

Hi Brenda,

Thanks for taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. This is a courtesy email to share the After Adopting Orphans FAQ which explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. One quick way to find the profiles you adopted is by searching your Contributions List for the word "adopted" and "manager." You can find a quick link to your Contributions List in the My WikiTree dropdown menu.

If you will be working with any profiles needing GEDCOM cleanup, the AGC tool can help with formatting so that you can concentrate on the research. You can read more about it in the WikiTree AGC FAQ.

Let me know if you have any questions,

Debi

Hi Brenda,

Just a note to say that I have rejected the unmatched merge of your profile to a male ancestors' profile Raymond Liberto (1932-2008). Please review the merge process see https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Matching_and_Merging_FAQ Merging is about duplicate profiles being merged into one profile and once a merge takes place if it was incorrect it cannot be undone.

Raymond is a family member and already appears in your branch of the tree. If you wish to be added to the trusted list then please send Travis a trusted list request.

All the Best Janet

Hi Brenda,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Pre-1700_Profiles. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines laid out on that page.

Thank you Maureen,

I am trying to upload my gedcom but I need to trim a few distant people out since wiki won't allow more than 5000 people in upload

Hi Brenda

I would recommend adding a few profiles manually and getting a feel for the site before you get into GEDCOM here. I made the mistake of trying a large GEDCOM file and it is quite tedious because you have to do the matching process for the whole file before you can even add one person. I've been more successful with just 1 small branch (30 people) at a time.

Here is a link to the Help Page for GEDCOMPARE - https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:GEDCOMpare Also, take a look at our G2G Forum (you can find it under the dropdown Help Menu at top right of the screen). Search for "GEDCOM" and you can see other people's experiences and get some tips.

Best wishes Maureen

Thank you so much , that is helpful information
