Robert Wilford Lewis was born on 27 Oct 1910 in Springfield, Clark County, Ohio. He was the son of Edward Lewis and Mary Johnson.^[1][2][3]

Robert served as a staff sergeant in the US Army Air Corps during World War II.^[4] His obituary says he was a member of "Tuskegee Airmen, Inc.".^[5]

Robert was a postal worker.^[5]

Robert was married several times:

• He married Virginia (Terry) Reeves on 7 Apr 1942.^[6] They had divorced by 1950.^[7]
• He married Maxine Magnolia (Wilson) Wilkerson on 15 Aug 1950.^[7]
• At the time of his death, he was married to Joyce Lucille Hunter.^[5] They may have married around 1980 since her Social Security record indicates that she changed her name to Lewis around that time.^[8]

Robert died on 12 Mar 1992 in Dayton, Montgomery County, Ohio.^[5][9] He was buried in the Dayton National Cemetery.^[4]
