Hi, Pam and anyone else who happens to read. I'm researching my paternal great-grandfather William Marshall Lewis 1893 - 1973. It's a long story, but we don't know who his parents were. On his death certificate and military records, Elizabeth and Calvin Lewis are listed as his parents. He told the family that he didn't know who his real father was, but his mother was Elizabeth Lewis. The dates don't add up for Calvin and Cynthia Lewis' daughter Elizabeth as being his mother because she passed away at least by 1888. I found court records where some land petition was getting settled in court. Grandpa wasn't supposed to have been born until 1893. My family's dna matches people on Ancestry who list Calvin and Cynthia (Sydney?) Lewis, though.

David Baxter Lewis was supposed to be grandpa Marshall's (half, I believe) brother. Ella Lewis Solomon was supposed to be their sister.

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciated.
