Biography
Eliza (Lewis) Philips is a part of US Black heritage.
Eliza was born enslaved in 1845. She was the daughter of Smart Lewis and Dillon Vereen.[1] She married Wilson Phillips about 1875.[2] Their children were:
- Richard Philips (1880–)
- Cesar J. Phillips (1880–)
- Dill G. Phillips (1882–)
- Mary E. Phillips (1886–)
- William W. Phillips (1888–)
- Samuel Phillips (1890–)
- Johnie Phillips (1892–)
- Wilson Phillips (1903–1967)
She passed away in 1925.[1]
