Samuel E Lewis was born about September 11, 1853 in Orange Township, Meigs, Ohio, United States, son of Samuel Ellsworth Lewis (1821–1874) and Elizabeth Sarson (~1827–1885).

In 1860, Samuel (6) was living in Chester Township, Meigs, Ohio. [1]

In 1880, Samuel E (26) was in the household of Samuel Lewis in Orange, Meigs. [2]

Samuel died on March 2, 1901 in Athens, Meigs, aged about 47. He was buried in Carleton Church Cemetery, Bedford Township, Meigs County, Ohio.[3] [4]
