Biography
Daniel Levan was a Civil Servant in the American Revolution.
During the American Revolutionary War he was a Civil Servant who was in charge of court marshals, he was also the treasurer and clerk of the quarter sessions.

Was he ever a justice of the peace in Reading in addition to those other positions, and if so what years? The veteran pension file for Robert Anderson (abt.1754-1837) says that he was married to his wife Elizabeth in Reading about 1777 (or about 1784; there's some conflicting testimony), by a "David Levan, Justice of the Peace." I could never find a David Levan, but perhaps their officiant was really Daniel Levan and they simply misremembered the first name.
