Lydia (Leonard) Cobb was born about 1710 in Taunton, Bristol, Massachusetts Bay Colony, daughter of Capt. James Leonard III (1677–1764) and Hannah (Walley) Leonard (~1666–1725).

Lydia died on 23 October 1762 in Massachusetts, aged 51.
Lydia was a woman of sound character, and of such worth that the Taunton Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution honor her memory in taking her name for their chapter... the Lydia Cobb Chapter.[1]
