John Fitzmaurice Lenon was born on 21 December 1855 in Daylesford, Victoria, Australia, the son of Sarah (McCracken) Lenon and John Fitzmaurice Lenon.^[1]

He married Ann Maria Maslen on 28 October 1882 at Christ Church in Echuca, Victoria.^[2] Their children were:^{[citation needed]}
