Biography
Jean Baptiste Legras was born and baptized on 8 April 1705 in Montréal (ND), the son of Jean Legras and Marie Philippe[1]
Jean Baptiste Legras married Geneviève Gamelin, daughter of Pierre Gamelin and Marie Jeanne Maugras, on 11 Jan 1733 in St-François-du-Lac[2]
5 known children, 1 known to die young and 3 who married within the colony.[3]
Jean Baptiste Legras died on 17 Nov 1768 and was buried on the 18th in Montréal (ND), the record giving him 63 years of age.[4]
Note: he never used the dit name la Longue Allée on any record found for him. That was used by later generations.
