Biography
John R E Lee Jr. is a part of US Black heritage.
John Robert Edward Lee was born in 1897 in Texas. He was the son of John R E Lee and his wife Ardelia. In 1910, the family was living in Tuskegee, Alabama. His father was a teacher at Tuskegee Institute.[1]They were still living in Tuskegee in 1910.[2]
In 1918, for his World War I draft registration, he was a student at Virginia Union University. He listed his father as J.R.E. Lee, 2460 Flora Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.[3]
In 1920 he was enumerated with his family in Kansas City, Missouri.[4] He followed his parents to Florida when his father became president of A&M University. John Jr. was business manager of Florida A&M University.[5]
He married Johnnie Amos 16 September 1931 in Duval County, Florida.[6][7]
He died in Tallahassee on 21 June 1972.[8][9][10] He was buried in Southside Cemetery, Tallahassee.[11]
