Biography

Joseph Améde Leclerc was born 28 Oct 1881 in Saint-Pamphile, Quebec, Canada. He is the son of Augustin Leclerc and Marie Moreau.[1]

During the 1901 Canada Census Amedè lived with his father Augustin and mother Marie and 12 of his siblings in Saint-Pamphile.[2]

Amédie married Elzire Chouinard on 30 Oct 1906 in Saint-Pamphile according to church records.[3]

During the 1911 Canada Census Amedie, age 29, lived with his wife and son in Saint-Pamphile. [4]

Research Notes

  1. Birth Name: His name is difficult to read in the church baptismal record. But appears to be some iteration of Amede or Amedi. Subsequent documents refer to his as "Amedie" (marriage record). Census documents also refer to his as Amedi. It seems clear he did not go by Joseph.
