Biography

Thomas was born about 1672^[1] . He was the son of Thomas and Dorothy Lear of Marldon.

He is mentioned in the will of his uncle, Sir Peter Lear ^[2]

On 17 March 1690 he married Isabella, daughter of Sir William Courtenay of Powderham Castle. ^[1]

He became the 2nd Baronet of Lindridge on 2 August 1683, succeeding his uncle, Sir Peter Lear^[3]

From 1701 to 1705, he was the MP for Ashburton, Devon.^[1] He died about 1706. ^[4] His will mentions his mother, Dorothy, his brother, John Lear of Shippie, Devon, Thomas Lear of Plymouth (abt.1680-), cousins: Isabel Clobery Joanna Cove, wife of Nicolas, friends: Sir William Courtney of Powderham castle and John and Thomas Tothill of Langallee.
