Biography

Huldah Bangs Leadbetter was born at Leeds, Maine (then in Massachusetts), on 6 May 1803, the daughter of Thomas Leadbetter and Eunice (Clark) Leadbetter.^[1] Her birth is also recorded in the vital records of Livermore, Maine.^[2]

The town clerk of Livermore, Maine, certified that "an intention of marriage between Mr. John Anderson & Miss Huldah Leadbetter both of Livermore has been entered with me & published in the town of Livermore as the law directs." The intention is either dated 28 Feb 1823 or is immediately following intentions dated 28 Feb 1823.^[3]
