Eliza Laxton was born in Northamptonshire, England.

Eliza was born in 1866 and baptised by her mother on 16 Dec 1866 in the estate village of Marholm near Peterborough, Northamptonshire. Her mother Rebecca Phoebe Laxton was unmarried at the time.

What happened to Eliza isn't known. She wasn't living with her birth mother in 1871.

Research Note

Another Eliza Jane Laxton was born in Peterborough in 1863. She was the daughter of James Laxton, verger of Peterborough Cathedral, and his wife Eliza. That Eliza Jane went on the marry one William Henry Smith in the final quarter of 1895 in the Peterborough District.
