Research Notes
John Christopher gave his wife’s parents as Benjamin & MARY in her death record; however, “A History of Preston County West Virginia”, Oren F. Morton, 1914, page 435 states that the wife of Benjamin Lawson was Jane Gribble and her sister MARY was the wife of William Brandon and the 1850 census verifies the names of the wives. The parents of Mary, first wife of John Christopher, were therefore Benjamin & Jane (Gribble) Lawson. Roy L. Lockhart
