Based on future census records, Dominick immigrates in 1871, when he is 13. His brother, Bartolo, marries in New Orleans in 1879, suggesting that is where they first settle.

In 1895, Dominick Lauricella appears on the county tax roll for El Paso County. He has property in El Paso valued at $500 (about $13,700 in 2017), with four carriages valued at $125 and two horses or mules worth $75.[2]

Dominic Lauricella, age 38 (b. 1857) marries Mrs. Rosina Etie’, age 33 (b. 1862), on 26 February 1895 in El Paso, TX.[3] Based on the records of his children's marriages, Rosina's original surname is "del Buono."

Dominic and Rosina have two children, John Domenick (1898) and Joseph Frank (c. 1901), both born in Texas.

In 1896 his property is worth $800.[4]

In 1897, his property is worth $1000, double its 1895 value. He has three horses, worth $150, and one head of cattle worth $25.[5]

In 1898, his property is unchanged from 1897.[6]
