Birth Family

Jesse is the son of John F. Latta and Eva E. (Stowell) Latta.^[1]

His brothers are John D. Latta and Silas Edward Latta.

Marriage

Family

The 1910 Census^[2], shows Jesse is married to H. Belle, who was born in Missouri. Jesse is a section hand for the railroad. They live on Singleton Pike.

They have two children: Nina P. age 2 Emma B. , under the age of 1.

The 1940 Census shows Jesse E. and Hattie Belle at Cedar Creek, Lake County. ^[3] Jesse is a WPA laborer, elevator man. Children living with them are: Clarence E. age 20 2 years unemployed, new worker Bessie M. age 17 - waitress Leslie H. age 15 Edith A. age 13 Esther J. age 12

Listed as a head of his own household: Ernest F. Latta age 23 lumber laborer, lumber company

Death

Jesse Elmer Latta died 14 June 1949, Goodland, Newton Co. Indiana. He was buried in Sanders Cemetery, Lowell, Indiana. ^[4]
