Nathaniel Lapham was born 14 Jul 1780 in Cumberland, Providence, Rhode Island, to John & Amey Lapham. ^[1]

Nathaniel Lapham, the son of John Lapham & Amy (Bucklin) Lapham was born 17 July 1780 in Cumberland Rhode Island. He married Hannah Mowry, daughter of Gideon and Hannah (Smith) Mowry. He died in 1852 and was buried at McConnell Corners Cemetery in Clinton New York. Their children are listed, not necessarily in order, as :

Nathaniel Lapham was born 14 Jul 1780 in Cumberland, Providence County, Rhode Island, and died 7 Jan 1852 (aged 71) in Marshall, Oneida County, New York. He was buried in the McConnell Cemetery in Marshall. The inscription reads "age 71 yrs 5 mos 25 dys"

Research Notes

SImon Lapham's Findagrave profile (#11175827) includes the statement that:

"Son of Nathaniel Lapham and Hannah Mowry. He married Mary C. Jett."

There is some doubt that that Simon, and not another, was the son of Nathaniel & Hannah. despite the statement at FIndagrave. There is a SImon associated with the Alexander Hamilton Lapham (1789-1869) branch who is believed by some members of that family to have been one of the "four small children " Polly Sweet Lapham states were deserted by her husband 'Hamilton Lapham' in 1818 in Ohio. It is a very convoluted trail from New York to Ohio to Kentucky to Georgia and back to Ohio that involves parents dying young and children taken in by relatives, thus confusing the record of whose children they were; second or third or fourth marriages without benefit of divorce...

Simon Lapham-359 is frequently referred to as "Simon Southern" which may be an attempt to distinguish him from a different Simon, possibly son of Nathaniel. This is a trail I have worked on off and on for a couple of years, JLO
